Prayer Will Be Heard from Çamlıca

Çamlıca Mosque, whose construction has been going on for more than 4 years, is now finally being opened to public prayer in 10th of June. The mosque has been initiated by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at times of his Prime Ministry. It has been inclined that a museum dedicated to Turkish and Islamic arts and relics, will also be present.

An Amazing Construction

Çamlıca Mosque is known to be the biggest religious facility in the Anatolian side of Istanbul. All of the engravings on the interior walls and its great dome, is hand-made. The mosque will be opened to the public in this year's anniversary of Qadr Night (or Laylat Al-Qadr (in Arabic, which signifies the first appearance of the Koran to Prophet Mohammad). 

The Mosque Is Almost Ready

Stating that construction-related scaffoldings under the are being dismantled at the moment, Istanbul Mosque and Culture Service Units Construction and Preservation Association Chairman Ergin Külünk has stated that a group of 500 workers are current laboring ceaselessly at the site and that 95% of the construction has been completed.

It Will Provide Emergency Shelter

The religious complex houses a total of 6 minarets ; 4 of th em being 108.1 meters and 2 being 90 meters in length. With the capacity to house around 63,000 people in prayer and up to 100,000 people in total; beside being a glorious mosque, Çamlıca Mosque proves to also be a shelter in times of disaster.
